It isn't about India or its culture; it's about people and their aspirations and emotions," and added: "It's not a film made for nostalgia. It's a film about perceptions and how people think and then, how they change their views because of what they encounter in life." While writing for Deccan Herald, Suresh Kavirayani described the film as "a vintage Ramesh Sippy movie, which could not have been made any better. It comes across as a well-made movie with all the right ingredients in proper proportions. Abcd is easily one among the best movies of 2013." Writing for DNA India, Rajeev Masand called it "an undemanding family drama that’s predictable and preachy at times," while adding that it "manages to strike a chord by gently reminding us of our own past. cfa1e77820
